Getting Linux Jogdial Support on the Sony PCG-C1VE

This one is an easy one, there are plenty of solutions available on the net, I have just decided to present you the one I like the most.
If you have questions contact me at nicolas_henry [(]At})] orange.fr

Pascal Brisset has developped a very nice, highly configurable, effective, piece of software to handle the jogdial under X. You can download it on his web page at http://perso.orange.fr/pascal.brisset/vaio/vaio.html or directly from my site : jogdiald-0.2.4.tgz Compile (make), install (make install) and add this to the run script or your X interface (xinitrc or root command of blackbox for example).

Then you need to configure it to suits your need. I have slightly modified the plugins to have plugins compatible with the OSS sound environment which I use on my PCG-C1VE, and I have also modified the FNkey bind.

Please find my config and my plugins, if this is usefull to you :

Config file : jogdialrc
OSS Volume control :volume
OSS Mute : mute
Brightness On/Medium/Off : variobrightness

ENJOY !

Ok ... now return to the linux page
