| Alright folks... well you want to run Ubuntu 9.10 on your MSI Wind... and starting first reboot you experience a flickering brightness issue, either at the login prompt, either at the Gnome Desktop... and this never stop until you click on the Menu bar ? This bug is identified and solved. It is just hidden somewhere on Launchpad and took me a while to understand what to do. Probably other people will suffer the same "lost in translation" problem than me. Le bug est identifie et un patch existe, mais j'ai mis plusieurs jours a comprendre ce qu'il fallait faire et où exactement se trouve le patch. deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/sdefresne/ppa/ubuntu karmic main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/sdefresne/ppa/ubuntu karmic main
and then close. Then run the tool "System / Administration / Update Manager" and add the new Gnome component. Reboot the laptop, and voila, your system is updated. et ensuite fermez. Lancer la mise a jour des logiciels avec "Systeme / Administration / Mises a jour" et rafraichissez la liste, puis ajoutez le nouveau module Gnome. Rebootez le laptop, et voila, votre systeme est mise a jour ne souffre plus du bug de la luminosite.
